Where have all the people gone...

Sounthern Vancouver Island beaches closed to visitors during the COVID crisis...
Abandoned beaches...
A few days ago, beaches such as this one to the west of Victoria on Vancouver Island would be teeming with beachcombers, families enjoying the spring sunshine, surfers...

As of yesterday, they will be deserted thanks to the ongoing global COVID crisis. It became evident to local government that the sheer number of people flooding to the area to escape the restrictions imposed in the city simply moved the problem to the surrounding communities.

In response to the lack of physical distancing being practiced, the decision was made to shut the beaches.

Realistically, there probably isn't a way to enforce it, but hopefully people will understand the need and respect the ban.
