Leapin' lizards

A cold-blooded lizard warms up in the sun...
Catching some UV rays on a sunny spring day...
Big animals like cougars, bears and wolves tend to get all the attention on Vancouver Island. The small critters like slugs and lizards tend to get overlooked, literally and figuratively.

I've seen this guy/gal several times in our front yard warming hisself/herself on the concrete fence that runs along our yard. S/he is small... maybe only five inches long and doesn't seem too threatened by our presence.
