One minute at China Beach

Surfing on the south end of Vancouver Island is limited to a few rocky stretches to the west of Victoria.

China Beach is sandy but mostly ignored by surfers as the waves it produces aren't ideal. The exception is during winter storms when waves are better and when nearby surf spot Jordan River is too crowded. The downside is that the surging waters can often leave the water full of logs and debris that can cause serious injury as it rumbles back and forth with the water.
