Shoe shrine

Holberg's well known Shoe Tree...
That is a lot of shoe leather!

Cape Scott Provincial Park marks the extreme northern tip of Vancouver Island. To get there you have to get off the beaten path the paved highway and drive some pretty rough logging roads.

How rough are these roads? Real rough. So rough, in fact, that our camper refrigerator didn't survive the experience. All the bouncing around by the trailer cracked the cooling unit... a very expensive replacement bill is in our future.

One small consolation of the experience was to see the sort of famous Holberg shoe tree. Which is exactly what it sounds like.
